Two cents worth (now less than 2 Canadian pennies): It's been a long time now since I've seen an original round-spoker, but my MEMORY of an F-12 an uncle bought new in 1936 is that the round-spoke wheels were entirely red. I can't say for sure if the late-model F-series, with the cast wheels, had silver rims, but I am inclined to think that when these tractors show up restored now, the restorers liked the way the silvers looked on the letter-series, H and M and the like. Could be wrong, and leave it to people who have more info at hand. I have an original 1937 or 1937 brochure for F-20, showing the cast-iron rears, but everything is in black and white. Impossible to tell if the rims are silver. I know for sure that the cast-iron wheels themselves were IHC red. Funny, I drove a '38 F-11--had the cast wheels--for probably 12-15 years and never paid any attention to the colors of the rims! Amazing what you overlook when you're around this stuff all the time.

I have a set of 36"spokers for my F-12 and they still have the original paint though rusty they were always red.

I've seen plenty of original F&H rims and they were red. IH #50 which today is 2150

I think they would have been all red when new. I have seen them both ways with the silver rim and all red. Can"t say I have a preference.

Not sure what the "correct" F&H color is, but lots of the time I see the rims silver and the hubs and spokes red. I think they look much better that way.
