Greetings. 3 point on my 1466 leaks down after awhile with the motor turned off. Holds fine when running even with a load. But when she is turned off, eventually she drops. Normal? And if not, is it time for a rockshaft rebuild?

I had a 1066 and it leaked down not running from the day it was new. Did it for 15,000 hours, never any better, never any worse.

The older ones know that leaving their tail up is an invitation that is too suggestive.

If you leave them down, less pressure is exerted on the seals and components. They are never pull started anyway. JimN

Years ago, I used to buy new tractors. They never leaked down, ever.

Now with this second "used machinery" go-'round they will all leak down. Every blessed one of 'em. Totally rebuilt one of the rascals from the eye sockets up and it still does it. :>(

Ignore it. Think it is just pouting and trying to get yer attention. :>)

My rule- If it doesn't leak down with the engine running, don't bother!
