My F-14 slipped a release finger from the pressure plate off the side of the throw out bearing. This causes the clutch to not disengage this is very dangerous. Normally this would be easy to get to and fix, But there's an overdrive in the way. Do I split it or will the motor slid forward enough to remove the clutch assy.??? Guys becareful on these old tractors! The first time this tractor done this I hit the back of a ton truck at full throttle in 6th gear it just about knocked me off the tractor. It could have killed some body, But I still love them.

No need to split it, just remove the drive coupler shield, remove the joint parts, remove the overdrive (it can be a little tough to get out),remove the clutch pedal linkage and throttle arm, remove the clutch cover and you are in the clutch. You do NOT need to split the tractor. Good luck!

Andy.

Just take the overdrive out. I had a hiesler installed, tested, (failed), removed in less than 20 min on my F-12. No need to split the tractor.
