I have my U1 running sounds good.
Can anyone tell me what years these units were built and what they were used for. My local dealer cannot find any information on them. Thanks for any help. Johnny

Johnny - The U1 is the Farmall Cub tractor engine adapted for stationary work. Displacement is 60 cubic inches and it's rated for 11 HP as I recall.

The U1 powered balers, small pull-type combines, etc. It was also sold as a general purpose power unit. I still see an occasional Ferris wheel, etc. powered by a U1 at travelling carnivals.

Back in the '50s I used to see power units that looked like Farmalls running carnival rides (Ferris wheels etc).
The looked just like the engine units in my Farmall A.
