Before I changed out the 13 gal. of hydro fluid, I fixed all the leaks. It was 73 degrees in St. Loius the last two days so I power washed the 50 years of ????? ????? off the tractor. Pulled it back in the barn and a hydro leak appeared. There are two plates on the bottom 2x6 and a 2x6 t plate. In front of the T plate are two holes (look like threaded holes which fluid came out.) Is that right? there are no other leaks.

Thanks for the info. I think I will try the drain plug idea. The side hole still has a plastic plug in it. Thanks again Bill

Bill, the pipe thread holes you mention are for draining any oil leaking past the seals for the T/A shaft (it shouldn't be much). During my restoration, I replaced the seals there and it still seeps a little. Since the compartment for the T/A has to stay relatively free of oil, I'm going to take the 1/4" and 1/2" pipe plugs I bought to plug these holes and drill a little hole (1/8 or 3/16") through them to let whatever oil leaks past the seals drain out. It will be easier to wipe a drip off the end of these pipe plugs than it will to clean the entire belly of the tractor when I take it to shows.

Another picture showing the bottom of the tractor and the pipe thread drain holes on each side of the T-plate cover Bill mentions (look closely). Also notice the implement mounting hole higher up on the case that is open to the inside of the compartment as well. Hope these pics help. Bob

If there's actually a leak it would be one of the 2 seals on the T/A unit leaking into the T/A clutch compartment, or the IPTO drive gear shaft seal leaking into compartment. But if the 3/4 inch bolt bosses on either side of the center housing don't have a plug or bolt in them the power washer will loosen old crap in the T/A clutch compartment and make it seam like a leak for a while after.
