The tractor had been setting a couple of days, check the oil as I do before I ever start the tractor and the oil is milky. Never any signs of a problem not running hot or smoking. Just wondering if the 766 ever had a history of the oil coolers failing on these tractors. The dealer ship not very ambitious to answer any questions, but if I drop it off they will. Want to check every thing on the outside before I go tearing it down. Any suggestions?

Bingo-seal #2 sleeve leaking. Dropped the pan, filled the radiator and pressurized it to 15psi. Checked it an hour later and drips all around the bottom of the sleeve. Thanks for everyone input.

KJ: Tell you a funny story, friend of mine was checking for leaks, already had the rad off, thus he was looking for an object around the shop to clamp in the hose. Found a golf ball, just a perfect fit. He knew he had a leak, wasn't finding it at first so he increased the presure. He got the presure up, he was under the tractor looking and the golf ball let go. Completely pulled several nails holding the steel roofing and loosened every nail about a 6' circle.

Probably an oring at the bottom of the sleeve is leaking. If the oil cooler leaks you will find oil in the radiator as the oil pressure is greater than coolant pressure.
Drop the pan and look at the bottom of the sleeves. The one that is leaking will have green antifreeze drops hanging from the bottom of the sleeve. Chuck

Oil cooler failure will result in oil in the coolant as well as coolant in the oil. No oil in coolant most likely is sleeve or o-ring failure.

KJ: If it's diesel, cavitation of the sleeves, that is just how quick it hits. One morning you check the oil, BINGO, antifreeze.

Diesel or gas? Do you mean antifreeze in the oil?
