Neil,
I got a replacement cork from a do-it-your-self wine making store. I just used a sander to shape it to fit. I cut the gauge so I could get the new cork on, then just soldered the frame back together. Looks good.

I called OEM parts for one and after them giveing me the run around for 2 weeks they umm yeah umm we have 500 corks coming and i cant spare one????? Theyy are a waste of time if you ask me. Anyway im working on one off a air plane, i belive the cubs and such had a gauge simalar to this set up. A freind of mine has one of these and i going to rebuild the cork for me using one from a "cub" plane. Soo long story short look for a good avaition parts place and get a cork from them.

Andrew

The floats used on the gauges installed on 275 gallon domestic oil tanks are similar in size. They would be hard to install unless they are cut in half and reglued.

Although I have a IH fuel gauge, I haven't taken it apart to see if the cork can be easily replaced.

I have half a dozen of the 275 gallon corks. They are used. If I can find one under the snow, I could take a picture along side my NOS gauge.
