A friend of mine has purchased a IHC 186 - Hydrostat MFWD tractor. Needs to know how to put the blasted thing in 4-WD or to engage the front axle? Also, any ideas as to where to find a operators manual or tech manual on it? As always, your information and help are greatly appreciated. Thanks! Take care and have a good"un. CL

I agree, go with a real manual from CIH if they have it first! Well worth the extra $$!

It may have a mechanical engagement. That should be a lever topped off by a round black ball handle on the left side of the instrument panel, near the floor of the cab.

Case lady if that tractor has the electric over hydraulic clutch to engage, like mine did, look for a little toggle switch.

It could be bout anywhere in the cab.

My switch was above the pto shut off lever.

You should be able to get a manual from YT in the Tractor Manuals section on the left.
