IH2400 with weak hydraulics so, I drained what looked to be 13 gals of milk from her. I'm hoping with a fluid, filter change my problems will be solved. Any ideas what damage, if any, may have been done with water in the works?

There might have been a little water in there. There is not really any way to "separate" all the water from the oil. You should put in new oil along with the new hydraulic filter.

It might be pretty tough to separate, hydraulic fluids are designed to keep water in suspension.

No plans to re-use the oil in this tractor. I'm starting with fresh fluids, filters as I have no knowledge of the history of this machine. But I thought I might be able to burn it in a waste oil heater someday. I was surprised to see how well the water mixed with the hyd oil. Most oils will seperate out, never knew this about hdy oils. Interesting.

Should I flush it with something or just run new fluids thru and change it again? I'm betting there's a few more gals of milk in the hoses and cylinders. This is going to be expensive if I have to flush twice. Got to use the old stuff for something.

Maybe no damage. Put fresh fluid in it, run it until it is warm, and then change it again to get the rest of the water out.

Anyone know how to seperate the water from the hyd oil? It seems to stay in suspension. Maybe a little heat? Sure hate to dump 13 gals if I can get the water out and filter it.
