While trying to lift the head off by myself, and with a bum shoulder, I caught a push rod and bent it. Can I replace it by itself? Can you buy one or do they come as a set.

As you can guess, I have never been this far into an engine.

Thanks, Gene

Lay that push rod down on a solid and flat surface and take a hammer to it. I've straightened several of them this way.

I had thought about straightening them, but didn't know how hard they were. I think I will give that a try.

Thanks for all the help.

You may need to smack it a bit harder than what you might think might be needed. Once you think it is straight, just roll it across a flat surface and watch for any wobbling. Smack it some more if needed.

I also have straightened them on a H. Had to do it again until the valves had loosened. Apparently one was sticking.

I would try any local junk yard, or mike at Steel wheel ranch, or ebay. Im sure theres gotta be tons of those push rods kicking around that arent in a complete set.

Gene do I need to come up there and kick your butt?? Believe me you need to let that wing heel before you do much. BTDT and learned the hard way and I'll never have all of my right arm back because I didn't take it easy. As far as the push rods call crown power and equipment and see what they say. I would think you could get just one. Or you could call the slavage yard in Clinton and see if they had one

Old, I removed the head about a week BEFORE the surgery. I really have been pretty good about not over doing anything and have been doing my exercises on a pretty regular basis. The only thing I have done that really hurts is if I reach for something quickly, or forget its' hurt and reach behind me, try to grab a seat belt, try to put on a jacket. something like that. As far as work, We went to get 50 square bales of hay for the plugs and I stood back and watch my wife and son load it. I think I will play this act for as long as I can get by!
