Hi everybody, I'm itching to buy a Cub Lo-boy 154 with a five-foot finish belly mower, but I have never been around one before, so my question is, are they any good? Thanks

They are used mostly for lawnmowers. If you want a lawnmower it's a great tractor. If you are wanting a more universal work tractor - they are not the tractor to own. Other equipment for the numbered low-boys are specialized and expensive.

IF youre going to mow alot, forget it. Even with the deck, its going to take awahile unless you can find one with the gear reduction.

Great little mower tractors, but only about 15 HP. PTO is non-standard so don't expect to be able to hook up much else. Since they are non standard though, there are highly coveted, hard to find, expensive accessories such a 3 point hitch, snow blowers, flair and sickle bar mowers, etc.

Simple little machines and parts still available. A few known problems like, PTO clutch, engine clutch, combined starter/generator. Guess the original Cub engine is essentially what is used for power.

There are a bunch of avid owners with a dedicated web site. Really great people on the web site, definitely join that group if you decide to buy one or are still shopping.

Though I have one, I'd recommend a Kubota if you really want a small utility tractor and zero turn mower for mowing. Mine's for sale if you want one.
