I need to replace the rear oil seal on my 1949 Farmall Cub. need some help on how to break the tractor. can this be done where the engine and bell housing are bolted together?

You may want to take a look at that oil pump while you have the tractor split to see if there's
any wear. Hal

Disconnect battery. Remove hood and gas tank. Take wiring harness loose from generator.Remove throttle linkage. Can't remember everything that has to come loose but if it is connected to the engine and the rear of the tractor it has to come loose.Support both ends of the tractor.Remove thbolts that hold the engine to the clutch housing. Roll engine forward. Remove clutch and flywheel. Rear seal retainer is bolted to back of block remove retainer. If seal is loose in retainer the retainer has to be replaced. Also check engine oil pump above and to the right of the retainer. Posssible that gasket can leak

Also, don"t forget to put some wood wedges or blocks between the front axle and the front engine casting to prevent the engine from tilting after you split it from the rest of the tractor.
