I have been reading about the storms, let us have some of your first hand accounts and how you are surviving it.

About 9 inches of snow just SE of Topeka and no ice. We got lots of ice two weeks ago, but didn't lose electricity. North of Topeka the ice took a bigger toll on power lines. Some people in the rural areas are still without power. Apparently trees in Salina were hit hard, and the limbs won't be picked up until well into the spring.

Couldn't get the 300 to fire this morning. Hope charging the battery gets it going so I can get the drive bladed.

HuskerMedic, I'm out by Milford. You have to remember that bonehead Ken Siemek on Channel 10 always exaggerates the forecasts. If there's a slight chance of flurries, he talks it up like it's going to be a full scale blizzard.

I emailed Channel 10 once and asked if Siemek gets paid by the word. He's the only guy I know that can take 15 minutes to say "it might rain tonight and then again it might not".

I just got the two to four inches of ice from the last ice storm chipped off the roof yesterday just in time for the 2 inches of snow we got last night . All is good though . It was above freezing ( and really foggy ) for the last couple of days so the ice was loose and we missed the 6-8 inches we could have gotten . Temps this morning in the low single digits with high wind . My wife made it to and from work ( third shift - about 12 miles one way , she took all gravel back roads ) last night and this morning . She's sleeping now and I'm warm and comfy catching up on YT forums . Gonna try and get to my sisters in my one wheel wonder F-250 in a little while . Four wheel drive would sure be handy today even if only one in front and one in back pulled ( best on ice ) . My wifes '02 Dodge 2500 4x4 has a limited slip rearend ( making it closer to a true 3-wheel drive ) which makes it kind of squirrelly on ice but she's getting the hang of it . Have a great Christmas Tom and likewise for everyone else ! ...Randy

South Central Wisconsin. Have about a foot of new snow, but hard to measure because it"s still moving sideways with the 30-40 mph winds. Temp at 6.
No point in pushing or plowing snow "til winds die down.

Tom-We've got about 3 inches of icy snow on the ground, here in North Central Iowa. Good time for you to come back up and visit. How is that 1927 Regular coming?

Well let's see two weeks ago we had a ice storm here in NW Mo.It was the worst one we have had in 45 years. Was without power for 6 days and had to run generators to keep the pipes from freezing. Now we have 7-8 inches of snow on the ground and 30mph winds. Had a knock on the front door at 2:45 am this morning from a neighbor who was stuck on a state blacktop road by our house. Pulled him out and brought the car here and I drove him home. Not looking like a good day today.

Haven't seen a flake of snow. They were telling us 2" to 5". I'm in Lincoln.
