I am going to be overhauling a IH 424 this year. Anybody got any advices on parts, cost or helful tips.

Wvrly. these are good solid tractors. Simple to work on and fun to use. My 1967 424 Gas will run forever on a tankful. Good luck with yours. I will redo mine one year...if I can ever decide when I can do without it for a while. PS I am looking for engine skirts or side panels if you should run across a set. Heyseed

Parts are available most anywhere. IH, auto parts stores and probably here at YT. The last time I overhauled mine the kit was around 700 bucks. That was for a diesel. You didn't say if yours was gas or diesel.

Thank you. It has a gas engine. Also, it has been sitting outside uncovered for about seven years. Do you think it's still possible to get it to running again.

Absolutely! If it hasn't frozen and busted the block, they can be rebuilt good as new.
