Have 240 utility with loader that I plan to work on and get ready to use for business. It has power steering under the dash and is leaking badly. Are there O rings in that unit that go bad or a kit to repair it? This tractor sat for a long time not running and has some issues with a bad miss and low power. Is this maybe valve related as I have changed most of the electrical components and cleaned the carb. Also I put an ad in the classifieds looking for hood and engine skirts for this tractor. I have hood, grill and some other item from a 340 utility that I would be happy to trade or sell. Thanks for any help. Migraine

I bought a 240U last Spring, and my power steering is leaking also. There is a good description of the rebuilding procedure in the I&T Manual. I bought the seals but haven"t taken it apart yet. I had no problem removing the steering linkage U-joints, but you also have to remove the dash to get the power steering out to work on. Here"s a blowup . . . basically there are two seals and an Oring. Got them thru IH

3= #355965
19= #364108
23= #374527

Mine also had a bad miss. A compression check showed zero on one cylinder, and found a few bent pushrods and a frozen exhause valve. Sent the head out. Hope yours is something else.

Good luck. Would appreciate hearing back how the power steering rebuild goes . . . will be my first job in Spring.
