Anyone know a cross reference number to change the felt seals to real neoprene/steel seals for the front and rear crankshaft felt seals? There's gotta be a better way.

If the rear seal is felt, it may well be the surface of the crank on which the seal runs has a reverse groove in it. This groove is to wipe the felt as the engine rotates and bring whatever oil is oozing past, back into the crankcase. Installing a neoprene seal on this surface will cause the lip of the seal to be climbing in and out of the groove resulting in poor oil control becuse the lip may not seat itself.

I had this experience with a WD9 engine. I installed a felt seal and no more leak.

They don't have neoprene seals, only felt. I already called them. I was wanting to get rid of the felt.

Remove your seals and go to NAPA. They should be able to get you new matching seals.

The seals in there now are shrunken hardened felt. I don't think they can get seals that fit properly off them.

Scott, you might try giving Rice Equipment a call. They carry alot of old Farmall parts. 814-226-9200.
Might be worth a try, I got several Items for my F30 from them, they seem to have about everything. Good Luck.
