I just recieved a new choke cable for my 560 and am wanting to install it propoerly. The current cable is a inexpensive auto part that is running from the carb, straight up the right side of the tractor and was wired on to the L bracket that holds the parking brake lever. i just need someone to explain, once I get through the hole in the dash, how do I route the cable?

VERY CAREFULLY. Just kidding.I think you have what is called a universal(BOWDEN CABLE)which are easy to work with.Put thru the mounting hole, then put on lock washer and nut&continue in a(SANITARY MANNER)till you get to the final bracket. Then use a short nose diaginal pliers and spilt the outer casing so you can cutthe outer casing ONLY.If you have not done this before, practice on the end as Ithink it is too long as is.The inner cable is soft and can be easy to form as nessasary. You might want to put some anti-sieze on the choke wire before you install the cable. It comes in a tube, looks sort of copper colored. I got mine at NAPA, it will prevent the cable from rusting into the covering. You can pull the cable clear out before you install it & cover the whole wire. The choke wire will work great for MANY years with a little work prior to installation. (My $0.02 worth. jal-SD)
