350 is a good size. heck my dad grew up farming 160 acres for his dad with an f-12, and later an H as he took over, bought and rented more land.

Joe:

All 3 are nice tractors and have their place, Given the choice, regardless of price, I"d take the 350 every time.

I'd suggest buying them all and comparing, then report back to the favorite.

My suggestion would be to go with the MF135 or Ford 3000.They are proably newer and have better hydraulic systems and parts more available.I had a Ford 3000 diesel and it was easy on fuel and a all around nice utility tractor.

Are you kidding. 135 and 3000 are fair tractors, but the hydraulics from niether will compare to that of the 350. The 3000 puts out 4.8 gpm's and 135 is about the same. The 350 puts out 10, 12 or 16 gpm's at 1500 psi depending on which pump is on it. I have had all 3 of those tractors, and the IH hydraulics are far better than that of the 135 or 3000. The 350 also outweighs the other two. However the 135 and 3000 are more economical to run, and are good tractors.

gas. i am looking at MF 135 / Ford 3000 and this tractor. all appear to be in great shape. the IH 350 is much less priced. i really need to know if it will compare to the others in what i can do with it. do you know the rear lift capacity?

We used an H and a Ford 8N on a 120 acre vegetable farm in the 50's, so yes the 350 easily handle 30 acres. As stated the 135 and the 3000 are more modern tractors, and not direct competitors. Sort of like comparing an apple and an orange.

I don't know the lift capacity, but if I were being offered the tractors, I'd take the IH 350, I like the 350 a lot better than any MF or Ford.

NY Joe doesn't say if the 350 is a Utility or Farmall. Even if its a utility, it will still have a bit more heft than either the 135 or 3000. If it has a working torque amplifier, that will be another plus over the other two tractors. Possibly the 350 Utility's biggest weakness is the steering box. Beware if the steering is really sloppy, you might have trouble fixing it. Its the most likely part to have already been transplanted from junked 300 and 350 u's. If the 350 has a fast hitch, it can be fitted with a 3 point adapter.
