Got my super c down to just the rear frame and clutch housing. Rear axle's & carriers are out for new seals, bearings & gaskets.

When I took the lid off the transmission, I noticed the right bull pinion cage has a hairline crack. (no, I didn't break it!) It runs parallel to the shaft, next to the top of the hole for the bull gear, in the part that holds the inner bearing.

I wasn't going to take those out, It's probably been like that for years, but I'm this far now. Any thoughts?

The transmission always seemed fine, but is that oiler gear supposed to flop around like that?

Thanks again for all your help.

No the oiler gear should not be moving around. Now is the time to replace. Youcan find good used ones for around50 as new ones are250 or so. Last one i got was like new for 40.

You might be able to find a right bull pinion cage by posting in the YT Classified ads.

You said it. You are that far already. An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Do it now. You risk the whole thing snapping or whatever after you get it all back together. And you know it won't do it when it's convenient for you.
