Well I pulled the start off again today. Cleaned up all connections on it and still would not spin over like it should. Took the brand new battery out and pull a battery off my WC speed patrol and try that one and the tractor spun right over and started right up. Guess they don't make batterys like they us to. Took battery back to the store and they check it and it had a dead cell in it right off the self.

I'm still in the process of dealing for a 51 internatinal 3/4 ton pickup. been trying to get it for about a year now. has 6 cyl in it. body is pretty straight, has the metal floor bed instead of wood floor boards. But is full of junk so cant see if it is rusted bad.

Especially on "new" condensers---don't throw the old one too far away until the engine starts. Same with plugs. Brand new Champion plug was shorted. Worked for 2 hours on that one. Most of the stuff is made in Mexico/ China with no quality control.

Yep some one told me about it and I'm now on it but haven't done much there yet. I have been around the 60s and 70s chevs for a long time but a 50 is just a little old for me so far. Funny how I know the old tractros but not the older trucks

I was having overheating problems in a big block Cuda back in 1971. I pulled the thermostat, checked it in a pan of water, and sure enough it was frozen up. AHaaa. Installed new stat. Left town in a blaze of smoke and got 12 miles into the desert when it blew! Towed home. Now what. On a hunch I put the new stat in the same pan of water, and sure enough it was stuck tight. Now I NEVER install a new stat without checking it first. Oh yeah, I still have the Barracuda. 40 years yesterday. (1968).

What engine does it have. The 440 mag or a 383. I was an old dodge man years ago but when gas went up I stopped playing with the big block stuff and went to the cheap on gas cars. Or maybe you have a 6 pack which would be real hard on the gas

Sometimes it pays to following the steps in Troubleshooting 101. More than one of us has been biten but a brand new "defective" part. Good job.
