Need a little help. Started the 450D last weekend...before where there was a little drip from the injector pump...there is a leak.
I figure the small transfer pump beside the injector pump needs a little attention. It's leaking diesel into the pump housing.
Where can I get a rebuild kit for the pump? Hate to buy a whole new transfer pump.
Any help is appreciated.
Thanks in advance.....

450 should have a seal on the primary pump shaft instead of packing. Think I got my last one at a bearing sales house. Thats not the only place you could have a problem though, but would be the easiest to eliminate first. Does the drip tube on bottom of pump drop a lot of fuel? Can't say were to find parts anymore, haven't bought anything but some single parts from Case IH for the last 5 years or so. Make sure the vents open on fuel tank also.

It's coming out where the shaft comes out and connects to the arm on the outside of the injector pump. You can see it when you look at the side of the pump.
I am hoping it's just an o-ring on the pump shaft where it bolts to the injector pump housing.
Problem is...if I split the pump to get to the seal or o-ring...now I gotta have gaskets for the pump.

If you have a local diesel pump repair shop, check with them. local in my area used to get me parts from some outfit in Texas. If you find where diesel is getting in the oil compartment and then decide to fix the control shaft leakage the pump will have to be almost completly disassembled. If you remove primary pump and disasemble it enough to put drive shaft seal in the gaskets can be made, although gasket thickness is important. Last time I got some for primary pump Case IH had them all but one. If you can find posts in the archives some repair shops were posted in the past.

Thanks D...wish me luck. I like that old tractor. Got it from Dad before he died... no real use for it, but hate to get rid of it. Put 4 new tires on it last year...had planned on getting the leaks fixed and putting a hog on it to knock down weeds in a field our church bought last year. Being up high will help help prevent getting hit by anything I may have missed walking the field...no idea what will be in there. Hasn't been mowed in years.
