Finished up replacing the differential in my H this afternoon. It seems to be a little noisier in reverse and quieter in forward gears. When the chains crunch over the snow or gravel it makes the hair on the back or my neck stand up.

(1) ST 210 bearing @ $41.63 IH
Outer bull pinion shaft
(2) ST227B bearings @ $80.76 ea IH
Inner bull pinion shaft, inner axle
(3) 76510C91 grease seals @ $17.26 ea IH
Bull pinion shaft. NAPA could not cross these.
(1) 49789D axle housing gasket @ $10.57 IH
(1) 48646D top cover gasket @$24.56 IH
Was dried out and needed to be soaked in water.
(1) 1342401C1 belt pulley drive gasket @ $7.81 IH
(1) 1342394C1 PTO opening gasket @ $7.62 IH
(1) 5 gallons gear oil @$50.39 NAPA
(1) 6128D/6129D differential @$65.00 Gutvald
(2) bull pinion shaft @ $35.00 ea Gutvald

Total $455.88

I am glad to be done with this project.

Greg

You got off easy. I just sold a ring gear and pinion to a man in Australia. The shipping was as much as the parts. I guess they can't find them over there.

Should be good to go for another 60 years. Enjoy!
