What is a good source for blue paint for implements? I have a number of rusty McCormic implements that need painting that were origianlly blue.

About 20 miles south of the Atlanta airport between Fairburn and Fayetteville, GA. Up until 1993 we got at least one good (wet) 4 to 6-inch snow along in February to March. The temps would drop to below zero for at least one good deep freeze. Hasn't been below 15 since 92 to my recolection.
I have the front mounted cultivators and cotton/corn planters for a Super C along with the wheel plows. The planters, tool holders, and hopper mounts were blue. The main tool bars themselves were red. My mother sold the ones I broke in on. My dad (with my bother and I as help) planted 100 to 160 acres of corn, cotton, and peanuts every year for 20+ years with a set of these 2-row planters. They were still in excelent condition when we last used them. Most of the time we were banding firtalizer so along with keeping the seed hoppers full we were handling the firtalizer in 100-ponud bags.

LMack,
A NAPA store near me has an old guy there who has records of ag paints from the '40s and 50s. I needed to get the old "Harvester Blue" for my #8 plow and he looked it up and they have the modern match with NAPA #53 3736A. I used that and I like the way it looks...I'm 70 and it sure looks like what I remembered the blue to be. Of course my memory is not... Now let's see...where in heck did I put my coffee cup, it was just sitting here....

Vansickle sells the IH Blue as a stock color. Some of the AG suppliers like Orshein have it.

That Van-Sickle IH blue is about as close as you will come to being 100% correct, and it holds up pretty good as well.
