I have a few parts that need painting. I called IH and they said the paint available now is not the same collor as the orginial IH 2150. They took the lead out and it changed the color. Where can I buy a 6 pack of cans for less that $7.00 a can?
Tx Steve

if its a working tractor get the CASE-Ih paint its not that diffrent then the orignal just has a "noticable"orange tint to some... but with hardener its perfect and looks good on restored tractors thounds apon thousands of farmalls have been restored with case IH 2150

I used tisco paint. It is the same stuff they sell on this site. But i get it from my local equipment dealer and it is 5 dollars a can. I like the looks of it. I have heard it was used on the tractors from 1961 on. But most people can't tell the difference anyway, all they see is a shiny new looking tractor.

Car Quest sells a spray paint they call Tractor and Implement Enamal. You would ask for International Harvester Red. It is not an exact match but you will not get an exact match for a reasonable price. Here the cost is less than $4.00 a can. They also sell the same paint by the gallon.

My tractor is a working tractor. I just want the orginal color in a spray can. I know I cant get an exact match I just want to be as close as I can. Im just have a hard time spending $7.00 a can.

The only thing to do is to take it and have it color matched. If you find a color that supposedly "matched" it will not match your tractor due to the paint fading. Red is real bad about fading or chalking up.

if you are looking for a custom tinted color to match what you have, and you need it in spray cans, you will need to go to a body shop paint supplier, (look in the phone book for a nearby one.) you need to take a sample of the color with you so they can mix and tint the color. then can then put it in spray cans for you. runs about 15-16 dollars a can.
