Do you guys ever get tired of dragging in more junk? Seems to me to be like an addicition. I keep finding junk and it seems to follow me home. Then I look around and think why the hell do I do this! Out back sits 4 corn planters....one is more than enough! There's at least 2 of everything else and most of it, I have no genuine use for. I don't know why I think it looks better with my weeds growing up around it than in somebody else's weeds! So far, I have resisted dragging in more tractors....those one of these days projects that rarely happens. I used to have a nice looking place...now the back fence row is beginning to resemble a junk yard. ICK! LOL!!!!!

I have that problem. Heck, when i quit buyin, guys would drop stuff off! I got three regulars and two f-20,s some for parts, that way. Started cleaning up after my 20 year old son lost his rental shop and drug home three cars. (!!) I realize now i set a bad example for my boys. It will take many years to make my place look better again, but we are workin on it.

Be glad you have a fence row to put it in. You should see my YARD! I have to chase off scrap hounds at least once a week! One way to look at it is, think of all that stuff as "organic weed control". weeds cant grow up from under stuff sitting on the ground, like from under old cars/trucks or tractor tires. ;)

Its called Rusty Iron Disease. "RID" for short. Most think getting "RID" of something is a good thing!! Not so. What it really causes is a space either in the weeds, corner of the shop, or right between the ears that needs something else to fill it. Either way its bad. I'll tell you what, give me your address and I will help you get RID of some rusty iron. "Im tellin' ya there's nuthin {twitch, twitch} wrong with me!!!" :) Let me know if you find a cure.

If somebody finds a cure, I hope they shoot him before he tells the world. Look at the alternatives. You can either accumulate rusty junk or you can golf or you can drink. It's obvious that rusty junk wins hands down.

Well,

I don't have a yearning for a bunch of old tractors, mostly because for years I HAD to use them and there isn't a thing I miss about them. I like live power, power steering, hydraulic brakes, locking rear ends, quick detach FEL's, 4 wd, tilt steering wheels and all the rest. It took me forever to be able to afford it and I dreamed of the day I could. But....I like the old implements....not ancient stuff, just old...like from the 40's through the 60's. It's simple to work on, reliable and cheap to buy. I have one old tractor...a '53 Super A and it's so handy in the garden. That's enough. When work time comes, I mount the JD 5320 and let the toy sit.

Mark,
I don't farm, I run a lawn mower shop, and my dad has about 70 acres someone else farms. when he gets the crops out, I get my toys out and play. I also use the plow and disc in the garden, too lazy to use a 20" tiller. I had my B out of the shed last night, and moving things around,it was too cold for me. Told my dad how happy I was that he had year around cabs and kinda heat when we used to do custom plowing before he retired. When neighbors talk about cleaning up and scrapping things, it gets my attention and I have to go look and usually unless it is a lost cause, it is like a puppy, it follows me home. LOL
