I"m new to farmall"s and I am restoring a super H. I"m ready to get a battery box and put it on the tractor but it would seem that once you put the tank on you can"t get the battery in the box ? My father-in-law, who is not a farmall man says that htere should be some slides on the bottom of the box. I"ve looked in parts catalogs but can"t find any type slides. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Mike

Dillweed, OEM Tractor Parts has the battery box with slides you need. 800-283-2122. Ask for their catalog, it's a dandy.

If you have the box that slides under the tank next to the clutch linkage, You can loosen the nuts on the bottom of the box bracket and slide the box out in install/uninstall the battery, or you can also remove the box to install it.

Neblic got it right. The tractor has an angle bracket mounted on the side. The battery box has long slots in the bottom that the box bolts to this bracket. The bolts are square heads so they don't spin when you lo0sen them from the bottom. Once loosened the battery box slides out from under the tank. Then you can remove the cables and lift the battery out with a battery tool or you can undo the bolts and lift the whole kit and caboodle out. The box is designed to slide in and out to make battery changes easy.

If it is like the regular H battery box, there are slots in the bottom that your bolts go through which allows you to slide the box out. If you order a new box and lid, be sure to ask if the mounting bolts are included.
