I own a 1974 1066 hydro. I only use the tractor as a loader tractor and put about 50 hours a year on it. If the turbo goes out on it I most certainly don't need the extra power produced by the turbo. Will the engine run without the turbo? Also if so is there anyone out there that produces a bypass kit when I take the turbo out, or can I disable the turbo itself and keep it in place and if so how? Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

My question to you is, what makes you think you're going to have turbo problems? Is the turbo giving you trouble now?
Are you just worrying for the sake of worrying? If so, stop it. You'll live a longer happier life if you quit trying to come up with doom-and-gloom scenarios.

As long as the turbo is getting lubricating oil it'll last practically forever.

Clutch, shift linkage and front end wear are your main concerns now.

I wouldn't even think about that turbo. It'll just idle along for the ride for years and years. :>)

Don't even think about doing away with the turbo. It will cost you more in the long run to due away with the turbo then just to replace it.If you need a reasonable priced turbo that will bolt right on there send me a e-mail. Just my 2cents worth.

first of all the production on the 1066 hydro ended in 1973. and in 1974 the hydro 100 was brought out to replace the 966 and 1066 hydro tractors.
