Want to get a book with lots of pictures, preferable a pic of most every model, of IH tractors. Father in law grew up with letter series up to 06 series so that is what he loves to read about/look at the most, but if the book covers older and newer models as well, it would just be cool whip on the pie. Any rcommendations???

Lots of pics? I would consider "The Big Book of FARMALL Tractors" From Voyageur Press ISBN 0-89658-552-2 contact www.voyageurpress.com-----
or FARMALL Letter Series Tractors by Guy Fay ISBN 0-7603-0438-6 www.motorbooks.com--- Fay is extremely informative but fails a little by not discussing any of the Farmalls built outside USofA so I think in places some numbering sequence is lost MTF

A book that might cover what you are looking too is International Harvester Tractors 1955-1985. It is a very informative book with a good deal of pictures and it is wrote by Ken Updike. I personally have this book and really like it. Another good book is Farmall: Eigth decades of inovation. This is a pretty informative book with good pictures and this one is wrote by Randy Leffingwell. I have both of these books and like them both.

I have 3 that I like
1. 150 years of International Harvestor by CH Wnedell, A good book covers a lot of differant things, trucks, tractors, dozers, engines, implements, etc.a lot of pics, but are all black and white
2 The big book of Farmalls by Randy Leffinwell, this book has a lot color pics.I think it goes all the way to the end of the International harvestor.
3.International Harvestor Farm Equipment Product History 1831-1985. by Ralph Baumheckel & Kent Borghoff. This is a real nice book, lots of pics, black and white and color.
These are 3 big books, for smaller books there are ones such as:
IH tractor buyers guide by Robert Pripps
Farmall tractors by Robert Pripps and Andrew Moreland. These two books have a lot of pictures. There is another book out by Guy Fay that I do not have, according to some, is the Bible to IH Farmall info.

I have the book they sell on Amazon.com called "the big book of Farmall Tractors." It has every tractor Farmall made from pre Farmall Regualar, to the F series, letter series and all of the number series tractors. It also compares them to the competition of the era. It also has all of the specs. Lots of good pictures in it. I love it. If you want a book that covers them all this is it.

Not many pictures, but for a true IH fan that misses the company that made his favorite tractors, "A Corporate Tragedy", a business school treatise by Barbara Marsh is quite an interesting "read".

I like to book "150 Years of International Harvester." It came out in 1980, but its been reprinted several times. You can get it from Motorbooks International. It shows all Tractor models up to the 86 Series, all trucks, implements, refrigeration and such.
