New Binder manuals confusing me

I ordered about $60.00 worth of manuals from Binder books. I ordered manuals that, according to their adds, would cover the super H. But when I start looking through the index of the books, they mention H and HV, but nothing on super H. I know they are close, but for instance, my clutch looks different than what is shown in the clutch service manual.

My IT manual makes reference to a 10.5" clutch, but these books go from 10 to 11? I am confused!

I purchased the GSS-5053 Tractor and Power unit clutches, The GSS-5032 Service manual for Farmall H and 4 series tractors and power units. and finally the CHS-12, Service mans guite to clutch adjustment for ..... .

Do I have the right books? I have a stage I super H.

Thanks, Gene

I just didn't want you to throw the manuals in the trash in disgust! third party image

Glad Andrew likes it. Have fun in Mayport!

Yes CNKS you are correct about the way that clutch comes out. There has always been lots of discussion on here about weather or not that clutch will come out the bottom. I had helped my dad on an H several times so I knew about screwing in the three bolts to compress the assembly, then remove. I could tell from looking up at the Super H clutch that that was different. I ended up splitting the tractor anyway. I just wanted to make sure I had not thrown $60 down the drain. I will keep what I got.

Mike, sounds like this is all that is available.
Let me know if I can share anything with you.

Gene

PS Andrew is getting into port soon and we are headed to Mayport. His mom is pretty excited. I just want to take the ship for a spin, but guess that is out of the question. I am going to miss his tiger cruise as he will be in Norfolk at a school. I think he likes the Navy more than he lets on.

I don't have the Blue Ribbon clutch manuals, so I can't completely answer that question. The Super H has a Rockford clutch, at least mine does, the H's may have the Auburn clutch, or some other brand, I don't know. With the Rockford you can disregard inserting the bolts to keep it compressed and then taking them out after installation, as the Rockford is a direct bolt on. The fingers are correctly adjusted at the rebuilding place so you don't need to mess with them. There may be other differences. But, there is no separate chassis service manual for the Super H, you have to use the H manual or the IT manual.

I think that ALL replacement clutch assemblies that are available today are of the Rockford design.

Don't know the answer. I looked at there web site and they show the posted manuals for both tractors and couple the same for M also. Do know the last of the H and all SH used a 10.5 clutch. SH does show another manual for engine. Also last of H tractors used disc brakes and differential like the SH. Does the H manual cover those parts?

Keep watching the post I guess. They are good if you have a straight H Mike, just no reference to Super H and while there is not much difference, there is some.

See you,, Gene
