I am working on a 674 and I got the tractor with no hydraulics operating except power steering. Changed out the filter ( not to dirty )drained all oil and replentished it, still no operation of the front end loader. Removed the valve plate on the side and replaced hydraulic pump
( worn bad ). pulled out all valves in plate and resealed them, reinstalled all parts and still no hydraulics except the 3 point hitch will go up with no control and the pto shaft will not rotate. After the engine is off the PTO will turn but only 90 deg. in either direction.I removed the dump valve under the seat and changed out all seals and verified the valve works freely, and just in front of the dump valve is a plug with a pressure reg. type spring assembly and upon removal the plug shot out under pressure with the engine off.I feel there is a valve stuck or hung open because there is no flow to the front end loader valve body at all, and the line feeding the dump valve is getting hot. Can you help me with some tips or show me where to get a power flow chart/diagram of the hyd. system please. Thanks in advance, Robert-----

Hi Robert, I kept a file of all problems/solutions for these models replied to by Bernard from Quebec. See below:

3 pt hitch problems:
Maybe the unload valve is stuck. Check with engine running, raise the hitch and pull the remote lever at the same time. If the hitch raises, you have dirt in the unload valve. This valve is under the seat and you remove the large plug for access. One trick, loosen the large plug, unload valve, 2 turns and start the engine, if the valve is stuck the hitch should raise. It has a small hole in the valve and just blow dirt out with compressed air. Replace the O rings.

Hope this helps

Ok, you say under the seat below the dump valve. I removed the dump valve and there were 4 places for "O" rings and one looked as though it went to a solid block off area, is this the area where the tiny hole should be? I mean an area on top of the trans. Will this if it is cleared give fluid flow to the front end loader because it has no flow to the valve body. Thanks, Robert----

Robert, how & where is the loader connected to the hydraulic system?

The flow divider is prob stuck, they made an updated spool and spring for them tractors. Sometimes they can be really hard to get out, it is located in the MCV valve were you replaced the pump.

My 684 was acting the same way.It ended up being emergency brake material cloging up the return passage. This may not be your problem but might be worth looking at.
