I need to pull the engine off the IH 484 and was wondering how heavy the engine is. I want to know if I can pick it up by myself.

Ok I was just joking about that. I need to buy a engine stand and a engine lift and dont want to buy one to light and have something break and have the engine hit the floor. The little 3cyl looks pretty heavy so I thought I would ask.
Its a D-179 diesel engine.

Sorry about that.
I looked up the D179 motor complete from CaseIH and 1837 lbs. is the listed weight. HOWEVER, a D155 which is almost the same is listed at 880 lbs. Now i am unsure, but the 880-900 lb range seems more realistic with the 1837 number being a misprint in the D179 listing.
