I am a new Super M owner and I was messing with stuff that I shouldn't have been and now I have a much bigger problem then when I started. I was wondering if there is a way to fix the timing without going trough all of that stuff? I don't have access to anything to lift up the front of it and no building to do it in. Oh and I live in Iowa in the middle of the winter. Any help would be greatly excepted. Thank You All Greg

Isn't TDC a common acronym for engines in general? Diesel engines need to be timed against TDC, top dead center, too.

unfortunately, if you messed something up bad, you probably have to start from scratch, which really isn't that big of a deal, just more steps.
tell us the previous symptoms and what you have done and what's going on now.
i've done alot on our 400 and others in the winter outside. I even changed the hydraulic pump (which meant r & r of distributor) while it was snowing! just follow instructions in I& T manual carefully. you'll do fine.

Are you talking about valve timming or distributer timming? You don't have to lift the tractor to time the distributer to the engine and I don't think you are talking about valve timming because you would have had to take the front timming cover off and to do that you would have had to raise the tractor and removed the front boolster.

Check out the thread linked below, from only a day or two ago. The same basic instructions will apply to your tractor.

Mike, this is a little off topic, but I saw a rerun of the Late Show the other night with Bill Clinton on it, He was going on about how bad we needed to rebuild our military. He was the knothead that dismantled it. When I was on active duty during the Reagan years we had 18 full combat divisions in the army alone. Clinton cut that to 10, and now has the nerve to lay it on someone else. Just an soldier ranting. GOD BLESS OUR SOLDIERS, MARINES,SAILORS,AIRMEN, AND ANYONE ELSE IN HARMS WAY.

Not really political bashing, just concerned with the demands placed on our youth. I could care less about politics in general.
