This one was parked beneath a shed and someone stole the carb, sheetmetal and exhaust manifold last year. The name plate (pictured) is on the clutch housing on the right side. I thought this one was a 300 but now I'm not sure. Any help would be appreciated!! The pics are here:

Thanks again!

That 300 fast hitch has no observable wear on it. That may be true of the whole tractor. If you are willing to part it out, let us know.

I never noticed the serial # plates are on opposite sides on a 300 and 400.

The engine does hast a C-169 stamped on it to the left of the distributor.

Thanks!

Yep, if it is C-169, its a 300. Are you going to restore that tractor?

Andy.

For Sale: Re: Can someone help me identify this IH tractor.. in reply to Andy Motteberg, 12-04-2007 15:06:22
I'm not going to restore, she's for sale like she is. The radiator is full of antifreeze, the engine turns and the oil is very clean. This tractor was in service last year, all she needs is a exhaust manifold, carb and sheetmetal. The tires are all brand spanking new.

Thanks everyone for your help in identifying this one!

Try selling it in the YT Photo ads.

Good luck.

Andy.

Mark, easy tip offs are the serial # plate on the right side instead of left like a 400 and the serial # is higher than 350 went to.

Its a 300 or 400, can't really tell from pics, but it has everything. Power steering, still has the depth control bracket and cylinder, fast hitch. a good fixer. Look on the right side of engine for numbers. 300 will have C-169 and 400 will have C-264. That is engine displacement

I'm pretty sure that is a 300, but it could be a 350, 400 or 450. Look on the distributor side of the engine block. The engine size is stamped there. If it is a 300, it will have a C-169 engine.

Its not an x50, the fast hitch is the x00 version.
