WILL ENGINE FROM 444 FIT INTO FARMALL 504? I THINK THEY BOTH USED C-153 ? 504 IS TRI FRONT DOES THIS MAKE A FOR ANY PROBLEMS THANKS FOR YOUR TIME

The 444 and the 504 do both use the same engine (a C-153). There are some differences between the accessories and oil pans and such, however. They should have the same bolt pattern though. Go on www.caseih.com and go under parts search. type in the names of each tractor as well as the engine itself (c-153) to see for sure what is different.

Like Hugh, I am skeptcal of it working. The 444 engine wont be drilled for motor mounts that are required on the 504.

Rich: I'd want to do a lot of detailed checking before I'd try that one. I expect the block is different as it applies to bolting to tractor particularly at front.

504 is US built with frame rails, 444 is British design assembled in the US. Then if you happen to be in Canada the 444 will be complete British assembly. Not saying it can't be done, just do your homework.
