I"m looking to purchase this tractor to use around the farm. Seller says the backhoe boom failed to swing last time he tried it. Looking at the parts drawing I see it is a rack and pinion type mech. The rack has a piston on each end for the left and right hyd cylinders. I was told these parts are NLA. The seller seems to think its a problem with the operating lever spool. Is there an easy way to check what might be the problem without tearing into it? I belive I will pass if its a rack and pinion issue. Also, this tractor has the forward/reverse lever on the dash. It looks as though it operates a valve on top of the trans. Are these shuttle shifts problematic? I am having to get the starter rebuilt to check it out. So, I"m in it for about $50 so far. I"m finding little info about this machine. Anyone familiar?

13Klbs! My trailer won't like that.

Do the two pumps use a common resevoir?

Two hyd. pumps run this backhoe one for swing and steering, the other runs the rest of the hoe and loader. Once you get it runing email me and maybe I can help you. Jim

Also, I can't locate a weight for this machine.

I'm guessing around 6K lbs.

I am not sure how much difference is in teh 2500A and the 2400, but weight wise I believe you are way off, I know my 2500A backhoe weighs close to 13,000 maybe more,,, hope that helps
