I need a decently priced freight company to move 2 steel wheels from Kansas to Washington State. Got one quote of $769 and about fell out of my chair.

Do you work or have a friend in industry that ships or receives product. Arrange to use their discount. They more than likely have a discount up to 90%.
It can be done but you need friends in the right places. You friend will know what carrier has the good prices.

I've got the names of a couple truckers that haul out of the midwest that are based here in Wa state. They have done me a good job and I'd be happy to share their names and give good references if you need them. Where in Kansas and where in Washington? Migraine

On the left hand column under Community is Hauling Schedule. Post what you want shipped there. Someone is coming your way that will haul those wheels reasonable.

Have you posted a request on the hauling schedule? Might take two or three stops, but could be more affordable...
