Hey guys. Still trying to figure out the live hydraulics on my SH. Have the main line to the engine driven pump coming from the bottom of the belley pump housing and the pressure return line going back to the top of my 2-way valve. Then have 2 lines going to the rear for power up and down. Have the valve mounted directly on top of filler pipe coming out of housing for oil return. Trouble is that with a short nipple the valve hits and binds the starter switch. If I use the next taller nipple, the pressure line to the valve hits the bottom of the gas tank. I don't want any vibrations to rub a hole in the gas tank. However, I am afraid if I use an elbow and move the valve off to the side I will loose rigidity. Valve is not the IH christmas tree style. Anybody else have this trouble? Pictures would be great!!! Sorry for the long post but thanks for your help!!!

1 Get a plumber to cut you an intermediate length nipple.

2 Try a tee instead of a street ell to lower the inlet line a little.

3 Cut the threads on a street ell a little deeper to lower the inlet line a little.

4 Buy a hose with a 90 built in to the end going into the valve.

here is a two way valve on my m. its a char-lynn kit. valve mounts behind the belt pulley, the return line plumbs into the drain on the bottom of the lift all pump with a tee fitting, with a pipe plug for a drain. there is a second control rod for the two way valve that mounts just above the lift all control rod.

That has to be a welder sitting inside the box.

Interesting setup. How did you happen across this unique configuration. I am impressed.

Oh ... this box needs a coat of red ( g ).

Hi Matt, If I have it pictured right, my first question is how will you use the filler pipe? Can you turn the valve 90 degrees then put a tee on the filler pipe so the return will come in the side and there will be a plug on top for measuring and adding oil. When I did mine I mounted two valves together and put them on the right side of the seat, so I didn't need control rods. Good luck, Chuck

They had put a nipple up out of the front right side opening to fill the reservior I am assuming.

If originality is not a concern, hook up something useful!

I see no originality problem there. That is an IH cupholder, right?
Good luck, Wm

Thought about that but I plan to restore the tractor this summer and would like to try and keep the valve down where I currently have it and concealed as possible. Also, handle comes out the side with hole drilled in it for control rod running back to the operators station as an original would have been.
