H breather fitting

The brass fitting that screws into the back of
the head facing the back of the tractor is it suppose to have a small hole 1/16 dia or so or a full size hole thru the center.I put on a different head and noticed the difference.

The small hole acts like a limiter of suction and is (I believe) correct JimN
