The prior owner of a Diesel 656 Farmall did a number on the glow plugs. I replaced them after figuring out that he used a die (3/8 by 24) to rethread the old glow plugs, and he did the same thing to the hole you screw them into. I have no idea why they did it. Nevertheless, my NEW glow plugs (I had to rethread them 3/8 by 24 as well) screwed in just fine, but now all six chambers have engine exhaust coming out. Not much, but you can easily see it. Any IDEAS to fix this? Is there some compound I can use to make a tighter seal so they don't leak? It's so messed up, why someone would do that is simply beyond me. Well, ANY IDEAS to solve this problem, and I can't afford to replace all six injector chambers. I wonder if I could find six used ones for a reasonable price. Hmmmm... I've never taken them off before, so I'm assuming the two bolts that the injector and glow plug is on would easily come off. Thanks in advance!

Aren't the GP's threads METRIC?

I suppose when he ran the tap down in there, he mangled the "ledge" where the GP's seat.

I think he did...the glow plugs now can be screwed all the way down. They snug, but there's no point they're really tight like a bolt. Any suggestions? Have a great day!
Shawn...
