While I realize you folks are just getting over Thanksgiving, I have to remind you Christmas is closer to Missouri than you think.

I got a call Thurs in middle of the night, from an acquaintence in my home town back in Nova Scotia. He had two tractor-trailer loads of Nova Scotia balsam fir Christmas Trees bound for 6 retail outlets in St Louis and Springfield parked at truck stops near me. These truckers required a bit of assistance.

I was able to come up with what they needed and am happy to report they are on their way to Missouri. I do know Missourians were getting a bit impatient, as when I got these guys back to their trucks last night, their cell phones were loaded with massages from Missouri. " You were supposed to be here Fri. evening."

Merry Christmas, Missourians, those Nova Scotia Balsams will be there by nightfall Sat.

Hugh, why didn't you bum a ride down. I still have a freezer full of steaks with your name on them. I fell asleep in my chair last night and woke around 2AM to find the ground covered with snow. Your right Christmas is comeing. I think it was something like 76 here on Monday and snowing on Friday. If you can arange a ride down this way I will dust off the grill and I'm sure Jimmy and Old and some of the others could make it. From some of Olds post the last few days maybe he can bring some deer tenderloins along.

Hugh I would wonder if some of them will be down on the corner from where I work in Springfield. I won't be by there for a couple of days as I am taking Monday and Tuesday off.

Good of you to be able to branch out fir those fellers.

We cut local cedar trees. One less cedar every year. Not as pretty as the fir but traditional.

Have a Merry Christmas yourself.

LOL. If we even have a tree which we don't most of the time we buy a live tree so we can plant it out side later. Sure is cheaper also or was the last time we had one say 5 or so years ago. So since I live in missery these guys will not be getting any of my $$ for them trees
