i have my H thats my puller my next tractor is going to be my working tractor so im not sure wither to go bigger or smaller im totaly split i want to use it to brushhog and snowplow and mayby mow with it but thats just a mayby. I like the super C becuase it has the fasthitch and can easyly be fount with these things or can be bought pretty easily on the other hand the M or 400 has the power and with the ipto i think it independedt mayby its just live but anywho the 400 or M would be good for brushhoging for the power and have the weight and power for snowplowing but on the other hand i dont know if the M will fit in my garage becuase the H's steering wheel only clears the door edge by a foot altho i could deflate the tires if i needed to any help on where to go next oh yea and this is an FFA project and if i got something bigger it would run the bailer and if i get something smaller it would just be on display

I once saw a sign over an engine block boring bar in a machine shop, "When in doubt, go bigger".

I apply that to tractors, too.

My input would lean toward a 350U or W400 W450 or other short but mid power units. We have a 350U with fire crater pistons and thin sleeves. It has the Independent PTO. (as does 300U Farmall 300 Farmall 350 and the almighty SMTA)there are no other letter series with independent PTO. M&W hand clutch is as good as it gets on an M or SM.
Farmall 400s are underpriced and great. JimN

the over all height of a M is 75.5" to the top of the steering wheel if that helps in your decision.

i like the cream paint but usually they are way out of my price range..or the ta is shot

i would love the 300 or 350 as i love the dash panel it makes everything so convieint but im afraid that they will be the same as the H and i dont want the H again it great but i dont want two of the same thing i dont want something that bogs down on the hills like my H if i were to go bigger

How about a 350, that would be about the size of the H, and could get you the I-PTO, power steering, and the fast hitch.

If I remember correctly, the M's steering wheel isn't much taller than an H's, if at all. I'd imagine a 400 would be about the same. If I were thinking 400, I would probably lean towards the 450. But that's me because I think they white really off sets them well.
