Colder air is more dense and requires more fuel, thus lessening the fuel economy. But this will increase power slightly...

Warmer air is less dense and requires less fuel which equals better fuel economy.

The manifold for an M will not fit the H. There might be a tractor pulling parts supplier that makes one for an H. I've never seen one, but then I am not not really into that hobby very much. I do know that those manifolds are made for pulling, and work pretty good for that, but for normal around the farm use in all kinds of weather I don't think you would be very happy with it. Especially in cooler, damp weather, I think you would have some real problems with the carb and intake frosting up.
