How much MMM in the cylinders?

I'm going to put on my oil pan today while the big bird is cooking. Before I put the plugs back in, I was told to run some oil through each cylinder to oil up the rings. Someone else suggested MMM would be better since the H hasn't run for 10 years. I'm going to add the quart of MMM to the oil anyway for the first run, and then change the oil after a bit to make sure it's clean.
Anyway, how much MMM do I squirt into each cylinder and then hand crank it through?

Should I prime the oil pump? How do I do that?

Mike use the oil can method I gave you to prime the oil system. Pump typr oil can into the oil pressure gauge hole. (a bit of rubber hose will make the connection) Pump till it pumps harder (this even fills up the oil filter) It may take several oil cans full. JimN

Just put in a few teaspoons of it in each cylinder, that should be enough. I don't think you have to prime the pump, When you start it up, watch the oil pressure gauge, it will show low for a little while, but if it does not come back up after a little while, stop the engine and find out why there is no oil pressure.

Good luck & Happy Thanksgiving!

Well I think your talking about MMO but any how I use ATF instead because its cheaper and works just as good. To the cylinders put in about 1/4 cup. Thats enough to cover the whole piston then spin it over with the plugs out to clear the cylinders. As far as primeing the oil pump watch the pressure gauge when you spin it over and the gauge will most likely show you pressure and if it does then you have no worrys about primeing it
