I have started a new "Project" and have some questions. It is a Farmall A that has had hydraulics added to it. I was wondering if anyone had seen this system or was it "homemade"?

Any comments about the individual pieces would be appreciated as

This pump is mounted under the seat and is driven by a chain from the belt pulley shaft

This is the valve. It is mounted on the left hand side of the operators station with the tank

Under the seat, though... Would you really want a chain slinging oil at your legs, and then when the chain wears out and breaks...

I like your setup... mine is belt driven and doesn't have much more than maybe 4 gpm flow and 800 psi at most... a chain would sure transfer more power, but be noisy and high maintenance.

It is homemade. You can run a pump anyplace you like. Some use a power steering pump and run them off the gen belt. It depends on what you want for pressure, gpm flow and what you want the system to do. Looks like yours is a neat set-up.

Farmall A's did not have hyrulics. The super A's did. So that makes your's a homemade set up. Nothing wrong with that I put hydrulics on my A to run a snowplow.

It looks homemade to me, though it's hard to tell just by looking at the pictures of the nameplates. More detail would help.

Here's why I'm thinking homemade: The pump and valve are different brands. Gresen makes valves too (I have two of them myself), so why would they use another brand of valve?
Char-Lynn used to make a unit that looked like a 5-gallon bucket that mounted on the PTO shaft. That's the only aftermarket addon that I'm aware of.

Take a look at the bracketry. A homemade job wil be made from welded angle iron or other scrap. There will probably be obvious torch cuts and inconsistent welding. Factory brackets are stamped steel, and/or will be made from smoothly cut metal, with professional welding.
