This is mounted on the steering column. Says "Belsen Vacuum Brake, not sure what it does or where it goes. Isn't hooked to anything. Anyone know if it belongs on a 1938 F-20 and if so how it was used?

Another thought. Gordon Rice (Rice Equipment) is a retired IHC dealer and stocks parts for the older IHC stuff. He could be familiar with this rig. You can find him on the net.

New one on me. BUT--engine vacuum is used on all our cars to give power-assist to the brakes. Here's a guess: A wagon or trailer had some sort of brake operated by vacuum. Hoses went from this valve to the wagon/trailer. Is there any sign of some sort of nipple coming out of the intake manifold? One of the nipples on the valve must have been connected to a vacuum source.
VERY INTERESTING. Let us know what you find.

A second picture. It has a couple nipples coming out of the base of it. I am restoring this F-20 so I guess I'll just pull this off if it has no purpose and wasn't factory.

Could it have been used as a control valve to run a vacum milking machine when the electricity was off for watever reason? Armand

not OEM! I have seen the strangest things that farmers have put on tractors and equipment. This doent belong on the f-20 from the factory if that helps.

Never heard of this. I will be interested to see what people know about it. Happy Thanksgiving!
