I want to be able to hook up a single acting cylinder on a hay rake, can I tie into the hydraulics on the tractor, and if so where?

Hugh has the answer that will work the best. None of the plugged ports in the manifold at the touch control block have any pressure on them except when the touch control levers have been moved and the rockshaft arms are active. With the block mentioned by Hugh is properly installed along with a control valve, both the remote (control valve) and the touch control rockshafts will be functional. This is because the fluid is directed through the control valve before it goes back to the touch control unit. One other solution that I've heard (I don't recommend it) is to connect into the pressure side of the pump at one of the plugged connections on the manifold. Then install a control valve connecting the supply from the manifold to the inlet port on the control valve and the return from the manifold back to the drain on the touch control block. Once all that is done, you tie the rockshaft arms with a chain or bar so they can't move. Then you move the touch control levers so they are activated. Since they can't more, there will be pressure in the line from the pump which will send fluid through your control valve. I'm not sure if you do this though if there is a relief valve in the block that will function or not. Best to get a control valve that has a relief valve built in. Best is to use the block Hugh mentioned however. This won't be cheap. By the time you get done buying the block, control valve, hoses and couplers, you will have several 100 dollars invested.

On mine I put a T on the outlet of the valve then a ball valve on each side of the t. One going to orig hitch and other going to remote cylinder. plumb the return to the drain plug . All you have to do is open ball valve for what you want to use

T: You don't need to exchange the manifold. Saginaw Tractor manufacture a cast block that goes between manifold and touch control unit. IH used to sell that cast block 40 years ago. It is about 1/2" to 5/8" thick, thus you have to exchange those studs for longer due to extra thickness. Then you put starter pull rod on back side of manifold. That cast block has an outlet for plumbing to the intake of a remote valve remote valve. The return from the remote valve then is plumbed to touch control drain.

The manifold Scotty speaks of is a great idea, however it was only ever installed on tractors with a factory remote valve. Great if you can find one, but they are scarce as hens teeth.

If you don't use the touch control rockshafts, you might try an add suggesting you'll trade hydraulic units with someone that has a 230. 230 does not have rockshafts, just remote valves. I shouldn't tell you this as I'm looking for one of those for my 130.

We had a thread going on this very topic the other night either here or over on Tractor Talk, but be durned if I can find it now to give you an easy link.

Consensus there was. . . Your best route is to change out the manifold you now have (assuming you have Touch Control hydraulics already) to the manifold that was made for a remote hydraulic circuit. The manifold is the piece (icluding the piping) that runs from the pump to the rear and bolts up on the side of the TC block. The manifold for the remote hydraulics has fittings that let you run two hoses to the rear.

You can gump something together without that manifold, but it'll be gumped up. Don't know how else to say that.

Having the original style controls for the remote-type manifold would be a bonus, but you can make a neat job of mounting after-market controls if you have that manifold.

You might try looking yourself for that thread that I can't seem to find, as it mentioned sources for such things. I know eBay was among them.

I'm thinking it's about time I added the remote to my SuperC, to, but need to tend to a couple other priorities first.
