Howdy, Boys: I'm just starting to revive the Super M and saw today where the carb is not the original SM carb, but instead, a regular M distillate carb. I would love to find a rebuildable SM carb, but if I can't, what would be a better substitute for my gasoline Super M - a regular "M" gasoline carb, or a 400 gasoline carb? As always, I thank you in advance for sharing your knowledge. mike durhan

The only real difference between what you have and what should be on there is which side of the carb the choke lever is on. One other difference might be the size of the holes in the main metering stem. M carburetors are plentiful. Super H, Super M, 400 and 450 carbs are not nearly as plentiful.
