I cant remember what I put in the last time I changed oil. Which was the first time I ever changed the oil in my H. I know I asked you guys what too use. I didnt have any problems. So I'll have to ask this question again. If you didnt know what was previously used which one would be the best. Thanks again for your help. This time I'll write it down.

I would use detergent, but if you think it has always been non-detergent, I would take the oil pan off and scrape the gunk out of the bottom of it first. I've seen them have an inch or more of it in there and I wouldn't want to break it loose and have it get in oil passages.

Detergent -- Unlikely your tractor has had non-detergent oil in it for 50 years. We were using it in the 50's.
