I am in the process of replacing the rod & main bearings in my '45 H. The mains are IH std. The rods are Clevite 1163CB207M. How do I tell if these rod bearings are standard size or undersized. The shops around here don't seem to stock Clevite and cannot even cross reference the number. Any ideas?

Thanks.

If the insert is undersize, it will have the "undersize amount" stamped under the partnumber on the back of the shell.

Even so, I'd sure measure the crank for out of round and then use plasti-guage to verify upon reassembly.

Here's a web site for finding a Clevite dealer in your area. Give them that number and they should be able to tell if its std or is an undersize bearing. Hal
