Hello,
I have been in the process of rebuilding this engine and just received the engine back from the machine shop after 2 months and a $950 bill. I placed the sleaves in the bores (without o-rings) and the sleave protrusion was .007 above the block across all the bores. The black was decked and the the counterbores done per the machine shop. Will the sleave protrusion come into spec. (.003-.005) after the head is torqued on? Or, should I have them remove a couple of thousanths more? Thanks for the help!

Nope, they're too high, the head gasket will not hold. Take the block and the sleeves back to the machine shop and have them match each sleeve to a hole.
